SIERRA LEONE THROUGH THE MINISTRY OF
ENERGY RECEIVES $25,000 GRANT

Sierra Leone has been awarded a $25,000 grant by Energy Net, the organisers of the 18th edition of the African Energy Forum,
that was held in London. The Minister of Energy, received the price before giving his Keynote Address at the Forum that annually
brings together Government and Private Investors to network and make deals to Finance energy projects. The Minister presented
the opportunities in the Energy Sector that need funding and interacted with many investors who showed keen interest.
Earlier, the Minister spoke on a Panel Discussion on the UK Africa partnership and the opportunities, challenges and solutions. It
will be recalled that the Ministry for Energy had signed an MOU with the UK Government in October of last year amongst 10 other
Countries but Sierra Leone was the first Country to achieve the Compact status and this was signed on May 10th during the the
Energy Revolution, which was launched by President Ernest Bai Koroma at the Bintumani Conference Hall in Freetown.
