By Ahmed Fonike.
Friday 29th January 2016 was a memorable day for the Minister of Energy, Amb. Henry O. Macauley
who received members of a new dynamic organization known as the KRIO COMMUNITY at his Brook
Street Office in Freetown.
Led by the interim president of the organization, Mr. Samuel Valcasel of the SLBC TV, the purpose of the
visit was to thank their member (Minister of Energy) for his great job over the year and to encourage
him and his staff to work harder against the so many challenges faced right now in the ministry. Interim

President Valcasel continued that the Minister should know that the organization loves him and is firmly
behind him for whatever can benefit the people of Sierra Leone. He stated that the organization has the
potential of growing up to thousands of members across the country and there are plans to make it a
strong national entity in Sierra Leone. In conclusion, the interim president stated that the organization
seeks the welfare of hardworking Sierra Leoneans in general and the Krios in particular. He urged the
staff of the Ministry to work amicably with their member as the fire accidents are just some challenges
the Ministry can overcome.
Addressing the Krio Community, the Minister stated that members of his Ministry are from different
places but work as one all the time. He lavished praises on his Deputy Ministers and the Permanent
Secretary for working well with him in the Ministry of Energy. He continued that electricity means bright
light and darkness cannot overcome the light at all and so, the Ministry is on course with determination
to do far more than the previous year. The child loving Minister spoke of the children to be brought up
properly despite the challenges in the country.
He was supported by the Permanent secretary, Mrs. Zainab Buya-kamara who chaired and his two
deputies- Maj. Ismael Sengu Koroma and Alhaji Hassan Barrie who also made relevant contributions.
